To everyone’s surprise, the biggest OTT platform Netflix has stepped into the e-commerce domain. In order to enter the e-commerce business, Netflix Launches Online Shop called Netflix.Shop. Moreover, the main purpose to launch the Netflix official shop is to sell merchandise related to the original Netflix Shows and animes.
The store will sell official merchandise and collectables from original Netflix Shows like “Stranger Things”, “Lupin” and many more. All these items will be high-quality products containing the Netflix Brand name. Thus helping Netflix to connect with their viewers by selling physical products.
This shop will serve as a direct platform for fans to buy cool Netflix related products. Before this Netflix did partnerships with brands like HNM, Target, Amazon and Walmart to sell their Merchandise.
Currently Netflix.Shop is selling action figures and collectables from the anime series Yasuke and Eden. Also, the site will soon come up with special collectables from Netflix’s thriller series Lupin. Netflix will also be launching products from other famous TV show labels Stranger Things and The Witcher. All these products will be updated and changed on regular basis.
At the moment, Netflix’s online shop is only available for customers in the USA. The shopping portal will be made available to other countries in the coming months. The streaming giant seems to have built its shopping site using the Shopify platform.
The new shopping platform will surely help Netflix to increase its revenue streams in future, besides the OTT service. Also as part of their increasing business plans, Netflix is opening a complete Film and TV production facility in Mumbai, India. Recently the company has also announced their plans to enter the gaming industry and is also in the process to build a small gaming division for the same.
