Zomato Delivery Boy Punched an Instagram influencer | Zomato Apologised

On Tuesday 9th March, an incident took place where a Zomato Delivery Boy has reportedly hit an Instagram Influencer, Hitesha Chandranee. He was also arrested for the same.

On 9 March, an Instagram Influencer Hitesha Chandranee, has accused a Zomato delivery boy of molesting her. According to her, she was molested by her zomato delivery person, where she was also punched in her nose by the delivery boy. According to her, the delivery boy punched her after a heated argument with her, over the late delivery of the food. She also added that the delivery boy came into her house and ran away with the food.

She went over to Instagram, to report this incident to Zomato and her followers. She uploaded a video where she showed her bruises and also detailing the complete incident on the public platform. She reported that she had to go under surgery to get her nose fixed. Currently, she is on painkillers and anti-biotics Also, she has gained over 15,000 followers after the incident.

After this incident, the term #zomatodeliveryboy is trending on Twitter, leading to a wide argument. People have divide themself into 2 groups, each supporting different parties.

There is another side of the story as well. The delivery boy from Zomato, whose name is Karamraj has an entirely different story. According to him, he was about half an hour late for delivery, because of the traffic. When he came for delivery, he apologized for the late delivery, but Hitesha refused to listen to her and instead had a verbal argument with him. Then she threw a sleeper at him and started hitting him

For safety purpose, the delivery boy used his hand as a shield. While trying to push his hand away, she accidentally hit herself with her finger ring and broke her nose.

To handle the matter, Zomato has apologized by issuing the following statement “We deeply regret this incident and apologise to Hitesha for this traumatic experience.”

As of now, the Zomato delivery boy is under arrest and under investigation.

In the tweet, he also mentioned the details of the Delivery boy. As per the tweet, Kamaraj has made 5000 Deliveries for Zomato and has a 4.75/5 rating on the platform. He also has experience of 26 months as a Zomato delivery associate.
